For my first attempt at type design I decided to explore the character of ink traps. By definition, an inktrap is a feature of certain typefaces designed for printing in small sizes. Without ink traps, the excess ink would soak outwards and ruin the crisp edge. But in the case of digital type, and advanced method of printing this inktrap acts as a unique character to create interesting letterforms. Untitled is a work in progress, but the process and progress has been a great learning and journey into understanding different aspects of typography and font creation.
